When QVC hit the airwaves in 1986, the idea of shopping at home through a TV set was a revolutionary one. Some 20 years later, the home shopping industry – with networks such as QVC and HSN – has become a powerful medium for selling everything from diamond jewelry to power tools. Now a pair of InventHelp clients are getting their chance.
Though the inventors have very different products developed for different reasons, it was InventHelp that led them to QVC.
After becoming an InventHelp client in 2006, Joe Simonsen’s invention, “The Over the Door Towel Holder,” was presented to QVC and the network showed interest in airing it. In May of 2007, Simonsen's towel holder debuted on the QVC program "Problem Solvers," which offers viewers products to make everyday life easier. This InventHelp client has made a financial gain.
InventHelp client Gary Allen’s invention, the “AbsorbEase,” was also accepted by QVC and is now awaiting its appearance. The product itself consists of a piece of material that is placed into a pan during or after cooking to absorb excess grease. Allen was inspired to invent by a common household problem – in this case, what to do with used cooking grease. Since pouring it down the drain causes plumbing problems and outdoor disposal is not environmentally friendly, Allen came up with AbsorbEase as a convenient solution.
Most InventHelp clients do not have the opportunity to have their invention manufactured and presented on QVC.
From 2005-2007, we signed Submission Agreements with 5,959 clients. As a result of our services, 98 clients have received license agreements for their products, and 20 clients have received more money than they paid us for these services.
