For clients who are interested in trying to patent their inventions, InventHelp® can refer them to an independent patent attorney or agent to provide a U.S. patent search and opinion. Based on the opinion, the attorney may then help prepare and file a patent application for the idea with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. These referral services are offered in conjunction with InventHelp's invention submission services.

InventHelp® does not offer advice as to whether or not an idea is patentable; these opinions may come only from a patent attorney or agent. Our job is to try to submit your invention idea to industry in an effort to obtain a good-faith review, and also to evaluate any interest expressed. You may choose to apply for a U.S. patent and simultaneously attempt to present your idea to companies. Many inventors select this option of using InventHelp's submission program in conjunction with our invention patenting referral service.

If you do not wish to patent an idea, or if you prefer to locate legal counsel on your own, you may still use InventHelp's submission program. Inventors who have already obtained patents for their inventions can also use our services to submit to industry.
