| –InventHelp Client Jodi Pliszka | |
If you watched the reality TV show American Inventor, you undoubtedly remember InventHelp® client Jodi Pliszka. Her courage in the face of adversity inspired viewers across the nation.
Jodi – a therapist, children's author and dedicated mother from Muskego, Wisconsin – suffers from a medical condition called Alopecia. This rare disorder caused her to lose all of the hair on her body and prevents it from ever growing back. But rather than allow these difficult circumstances to lead her into self-pity and despair, Jodi became a vocal advocate for acceptance.
In fact, Jodi Pliszka's experiences with Alopecia served as the spark for her invention, "Headline-It." Frustrated that her wigs constantly became saturated by perspiration and oils during athletic activity, Jodi devised a special liner that would fit under her wig to absorb moisture.
"Headline-It" worked as Jodi had hoped, but it took a while before she considered doing anything further with her invention. She eventually contacted InventHelp® about trying to submit her idea to industry, and soon after meeting with a company representative, Jodi decided to sign up for InventHelp's invention submission and patent referral services.
So what does the American Inventor finalist think about the Basic Information Package InventHelp® prepared for her invention? Judging by her recent comments, Jodi is as enthusiastic as ever about "The Invent Help People."
"I had an idea that I really believed in and, for years, never thought about doing a thing until I heard about InventHelp®," she said. "InventHelp's services helped me to prepare my invention to be submitted to industry. The InventHelp® materials helped me become a top finalist on the American Inventor TV show, where I beat out 10,000 other inventors who weren't as prepared as I was."
Jodi was impressed by InventHelp's straightforward approach (we always emphasize the high level of risk involved with inventions and never imply a likelihood of success). As a result, she recently agreed to become the company's paid spokesperson. Jodi will soon be featured on InventHelp's television and radio commercials, where she will explain how our services can help inventors try to submit their ideas to industry in the hope of gaining a good-faith review, as well as obtain patent referral services through a licensed patent attorney. Be sure to keep an eye out for her!

On the American Inventor TV show, Jodi was among 12 finalists who received $50,000 to further develop her invention. Jodi, who is continuing to seek a company to license or manufacture her invention. "Headline-It" has not realized a financial gain, but Jodi has not given up. We are proud of the part we played in her story.
